This morning I woke up to wind gusts that made the house shudder. The siding sounded like it was peeling off the house. – 5:30 am.
I made my way downstairs to find (well actually I didnt find) our last remaining outdoor chair (which we left out on purpose) missing from the deck. . . . it is still very dark and the wind is still howling . . . I will look for it later.
My fingers were crossed that the satellite dish was working so I could get a handle on the wind situation. Coffee in hand, wind howling I began lighting candles because with “siding peeling” wind the power often goes out.
Satellite worked, wind gusts reported at 60 + mph and lights were flickering. However, the power recovered. Thank goodness because although J gave me several lessons on how to operate the generator I still dont remember. I really dont want to call him and ask for help at this hour of the morning.
To entertain myself this morning while the kids are sleeping I decided to get on line. To my surprise, the internet is working also. Its a good morning.
The trip aound the world started when I clicked the little arrow on the right hand side of my blog page. Hmmm . . . I have done this only once before. Today I decided to see what I would find. Blog surfing provides interesting entertainment.
I found many blogs. The blogs in foreign language are frustrating because some were compelling – I couldnt make much from them. For a little while I tried to decide what language they were written in – German and Spanish for the majority. Then I felt sad because I lead such a sheltered life; I found a Hate – Haters blog; Artblog (get off your a** and go see art), — which I found funny; teenage blogs which addressed slicing a foot, tetnus shot and drinking too much – at least I assume the drinking too much blogs are teenage driven; travel / hotel blog with pics of hotel beds – not the room, but the beds – - not containing bodies; Christmas themes complete with lights and a Gingerbread Village which appeared to be life size; Christmas sewing project blog; links to world news and politics – - people have stuff to say and one way to find out what they are saying is to blog surf – that was my trip around the world this morning.
The lights are still on, the wind is calming down – I should go look for our chair . . . maybe I will take Sandy with me

The same storm arrived here yesterday ~ pushing out our balmy 50 degree weather ans blowing in the 20 temps. We’re now getting the lake effect snow with it. I have my flashlight ready in case the wind blows the power out.
Oh, the weather outside is frightful…
